Youtube Video Optimization Guide

Youtube Video Optimization Guide is for every company no matter which industry the company belongs to. Every day Youtube Videos are watched by hundreds of millions of people and generate billions of views. YouTube overall, and even YouTube on mobile alone, reaches more 18-34 and 18-49 year-olds than any cable network in the U.S.  We have drafted a complete guide of Youtube Video OVptimization where step by step you can work in ranking your video on number one. so let’s get started

Step 1: Identify Your Keyword

Heres the first step to youtube video optimization. So let’s start it from here…

Write down a query that your customer might type into the YouTube search engine.

For example, a prospect that is looking for an explainer video service might type something like Explainer video or animated explainer video
So in this case, ‘explainer video’ will be your keyword.

Now, let’s add some keywords.

Notice this screen shot, how exactly I have mentioned the focused keyword and how the suggestions are coming along with it.

Step 2: Find Your Industry Related Keywords.

Now that you have understood what your main keyword is i.e. “explainer video” start working on making keywords that are related to it.

Go to YouTube and start typing in the most relevant keyword.

As you type it in, YouTube will start to auto suggest a number of secondary keywords that are associated with your main keyword. You can get the ideas from those suggestion your your YouTube Video Optimization.

Make a list of at least 5 related questions which you think your video will answer.

Then search those questions by removing the last 2 alphabets and the terms “how to” and “what”.

Make a document of each of the video related keywords to your that are relevant to your audience.

Step 3: Create Short and Engaging Video

A major part of Google’s YouTube algorithm (the math equation that decides where your videos will rank for a Keyword) is the WATCH TIME. In other words, how many people stayed that is from starting till the end of the video.
To have a high WATCH TIME on your videos you will need:

  1.  Super, high-value content
  2.  Laser focused
  3.  Short and engaging

Lastly, keep your video between 1 and 3 minutes. They need to be short and to the point.

Do a quick intro and get into the tip, trick or hack as quickly as possible. Deliver the value and close with a call-to-action (CTA).

Believe me; people are going to watch your video if your video content answers their questions, solves their problems, Provides information, and connects with them emotionally.

When you are in the process of producing video content, do analyze what your competitors are doing. See what people like and dislike about them. Also, see how they are handling their YouTube channel and how they engage their customers with their videos.

Bonus tip for creating engaging videos:

  1.  Do not make a lengthy video. Ideally, it should be less than 3 minutes.
  2. Focus on the video’s quality: Script, Photography or Animation, Sound, Music, and Narration.

Step 4: Upload And Optimize Your Video.

Once the video is ready to be uploaded the next phase is to optimize it. Now for that I have further divided it into some easy steps.

1: Adding the most relevant keywords is the key component to Youtube video optimization.Add the most relevant keywords to the video at least once in the description in the first 3 sentences. The description need to be in sentence form and should be read correctly.

2: Add the keywords in the form of TAGS. Then, add a couple of variations of the same keyword also add those keywords which you have list down in step 2. Lastly, add your name or the name of your company as a tag (particularly if you have a strong brand or strong personas that people might be searching for, add that in the tag too.)

3: Add a CUSTOM THUMBNAIL image that has a text overlay that describes the contents of the video. You can use a tool like Pixlr Express to lay text over the image that will be uploaded as the thumbnail.
Notice how this video thumbnail stands out against the rest of the videos in the YouTube search results.

You can upload thumbnail here by clicking on CUSTOM THUMBNAIL as shown in the picture below.

Step 5: Add Annotations on Your YouTube Video

Using annotations in your video can really get your video more viewers by engaging them and compelling them to spend the time to watch the video. What you can actually do to increase the view rate is to link the video with other ones in a series, or link to a certain category, or to your website in order to get more information. Annotations can really work well in prompting users to sign up. These annotations can stay on your video screen for a few seconds.
To create powerful annotations, add video background information, link to YouTube videos and channels, and try to create a call-to-action for sharing purposes.
You can add annotations from this section.

By getting different options, make sure to use the 10 in 10 out rule. This way the Annotation will come up in start of the video. You can use different colors to make the annotations easily readable.

Step 6: Taking YouTube Video Optimization to the New Level

Ok… this is big!
This is one of the most important step to Youtube video optimization. As a YouTube marketer we’ve been waiting for this FOREVER. If you aren’t marketing on YouTube then it’s time for you to take another look. And if you’re already doing one then you need to know about this. But first, let me explain the problem.

YouTube Marketing… The Old School Way

Ok, it’s not old school yet.
In fact, most people don’t know about this new feature I’m going to share with you today. Here’s the thing.
50% of the videos viewed on YouTube platform are viewed through mobile. This is a BIG problem for those of us generating leads and sales from YouTube. Here’s why… The old way to get clicks from YouTube was to add something called an ANNOTATION to your video. An Annotation is just a call-to-action box that lay over at the top of the video.

These annotations work REALLY well to generate leads and sales. But there’s one MASSIVE problem with these annotations that they don’t work on mobile.

YouTube Marketing… The New School Way

Enter YouTube Cards.

YouTube Cards are a HUGE development because for the first time you’ll be able to send traffic from mobile YouTube videos to your website. This means that by simply installing the YouTube Cards to your videos, you can easily DOUBLE your traffic, leads, and sales from YouTube.

This new feature will have a MASSIVE effect on your channel, as 48% of the customers use mobile and hence it can result in increasing your profits and double our business.

What do they look like?

Here’s an example of how it would look like on a screen.

The new YouTube Cards work to do much of the same things as traditional Annotations. They inform viewers about:

  • Other videos on your channel
  • Merchandise
  • Playlists
  • Websites
  • Fundraising

So, what do you need to know?

  • They’re installed on a per video basis (you’ll have to add them to each individual video)
  • You provide the destination URL, customized image, title, and call-to-action text
  • They’re rendered on desktop and mobile devices
  • You can edit them at any time.

5 Types of YouTube Cards:

  1.  Merchandise Card: Promote a creator’s licensed merchandise directly from the video. These are great for anyone selling physical products.
  2.  Fundraising Card: Links viewers directly to projects on white listed fundraising sites.
  3.  Video or Playlist card: Links to any other public YouTube video or playlist which can be of interest to the viewer of the current video.
  4.  Fan Funding Card: This card lets your fans show their appreciation for your videos by making a monetary contribution directly on the video page. Last but not least, the type of card that we use to drive leads and sales for our business…
  5.  Associated Website Card: Link directly to your associated website from a card. This is by far the most important one for an online business and I am going to show you how to set them up for your channel.

Just try this and you’ll see the changes yourself.

So, how do I set up the new YouTube Cards?

Sign in to your YouTube Video Manager, and click on ‘Edit’ for the video you want to add a Card to.
Click on the ‘Cards’ button in the top navigation bar, click ‘Add Card’

Click on ‘Add Card’ again to open up the creation window for the Card type you want to add.

Enter a valid URL applicable to that Card type.

Upload an image (or pick one from the suggestions offered). Edit and optimize the title and call-to-action text and click Create Card.

Your Cards are now ready to get started generating leads and sales from mobile.
What YouTube Cards Look Like
(For the first few seconds, they see like the entire Card)

(After that you’ll see the “i” icon when hovering over the video)

(Once you click on the YouTube Card, Your Call to action text and image will pop up below.)
By the clicking the CTA tab you will be re- directed to URL paste to it

Hope this simple Youtube video optimization guide will help you out in reaching your goals and making your rank on number 1. If you really find it helpful, feel free to share it with your friends and acquaintances on social media.

Introducing Instagram Stories… A knock off for Snapchat

Remember when a few years ago Facebook wanted to buy Snapchat and Snapchat said no? We all thought that t s not a good move by Snapchat as Facebook will go ahead and build its own Snapchat and now a few years later here we are with Instagram stories. Yes! You heard it right.

As the saying goes “Good artists copy; great artists steal” – the famous words of Picasso, revived by Steve Jobs, ring true today as the world complains that Instagram’s new Stories feature copied Snapchat.
Instagram launches its Instagram Stories, a new feature that lets you share all the moments of your day, not just the ones you want to keep on your profile. As you share multiple photos and videos, they appear together in a slideshow format: your story.

With Instagram Stories, you don’t have to worry about overposting. Instead, you can share as much as you want throughout the day — with as much creativity as you want. You can bring your story to life in new ways with text and drawing tools. The photos and videos will disappear after 24 hours and won’t appear on your profile grid or in the feed.

You’ll see stories from people you follow in a bar at the top of your feed — from your best friends to your favorite popular accounts. When there’s something new to see, their profile photo will have a colorful ring around it.

To view someone’s story, just tap on their profile photo. It’s easy to view stories at your own pace: tap to go back and forward or swipe to jump to another person’s story. If you want to comment on something you see, you can tap and send a private message to that person on Instagram Direct. Unlike regular posts, there are no likes or public comments.

Your story follows the privacy settings of your account. If you set your account to private, your story is visible only to your followers. However, you can also easily hide your entire story from anyone you don’t want to see it, even if they follow you. When watching your own story, swipe up to check out who’s seen each photo and video. You can even choose to feature a particular part of your story by posting it on your profile

How Does Instagram Stories Work?

Firstly Update Your Instagram App

To get this amazing feature started, you are going to need to get your Instagram app updated to the latest version. Head over to the App Store on an iPhone, then check your updates tab for the latest installment. On an Android phone, go to the Play Store and search for the Instagram app. Then hit update. Job Done!

Create Your Original Story

From your Feed, you should be able to see a little plus icon in the top left-hand corner of the screen.  Then click the photo / video button to capture the first part of your story. If you want to grab a photo or video you took at a party last night, just swipe down on the screen and select your top snap.

Be Creative with Your Photos and Videos

Tap the “Aa” button to add text on top of the photo/video or use the pen icon to put your artistic skills to work. When you are finished with being Picasso, click the “Done” button and it will be ready to add to your story. If you want to get rid of the photo, hit cancel; to save it, hit the download icon.
Sadly Instagram yet does not have any filters so you cannot put up a dog face here but if history teaches us anything, it may not be far away.

Check Out Other People’s Story

To see the stories of people you follow at the top of your feed, just click on their photo to bring up the story. You can also access someone’s story by tapping on their profile photo. If they have an active story, their profile photo will be surrounded by a pretty rainbow ring.

Access to stories works like photo access — if you have your account set to private, you stories will remain private. Users with public accounts are sharing their stories with the world.

Just like Snapchat you Can View Your Viewers

Human validation is key for these features to succeed. Just like on Snapchat, if you want to know who has been watching your entire vacation, it is simple to find out. Be warned: It is the quickest way to find out how unpopular your life story actually is. Take a moment.

Simply open up your story and swipe up on the screen. It will provide you with the number of viewers along with the names of people who have been watching your every move. Luckily, no one else can see these stats. You also cannot hide the fact you are looking at someone’s story, so sort out your addiction of stalking.

Show Your Appreciation for a Story

Really enjoyed your friend’s story Send them a message to say something good about their story. Open the story, choose “Send Message” in the bottom left, write your message and hit send. Although the app will save your text message for life, the photo or video you are talking about will vanish from your chat.

Keep Your Stories Saved

Sometimes your photos and video mean a lot more to you than just stories you don’t want them to vanish in 24 hours. You can either save a photo from a story before or after you publish or upload any part of it to your Instagram feed as a regular photo.

If you want to save your photo before it is published, just hit the download arrow icon. After it is published, open up your story and click the three dots in the bottom right of the screen. Click “Save Photo.” To share it as a photo on your feed, click the dots and “Share as Post.”

If you want to do the opposite and destroy one of your photos from living memory, also click those helpful little dots and hit “Delete.”

You Can Also Hide Your Story

Don’t want to show your story to a particular person? There is a button for that. Go to your profile and in the top right of the screen, tap the cog icon on an iPhone or three dots on an Android.

Hit “Story Settings,” click “Hide My Story From” and select away. Once you have them selected, they won’t receive your stories unless you go back into your settings and unselect them. You can also hide a particular story from an enemy by clicking to the right of their name and selecting “Hide Story From.”

Snapchat’s problem – which might be slightly intentional – is that it’s always been confusing and opaque to use. Adults frequently complain they have no idea how to use the service, while generations of millennials gleefully enjoy it without needing to be taught
Instagram took that confusing interface and did what it’s always done best: Made it useful to the masses, with a number of improvements that make it far more enjoyable to use.

Instagram stories will be popping out globally over the next few weeks on iOs and Android. It is worth the wait.

Top 5 Insider Secrets to Use Videos to Drive Signups and Increase Conversions

Let’s face the facts: Videos are hot right now.
From funny cats to the little boy claiming that Charlie bit his finger, it can start to feel like a new video goes viral every single day.

Truthfully, that just may be close to the truth. YouTube has over one billion users, which equates to almost one-third of all people on the internet, and every single day people watch hundreds of millions of hours on YouTube and generate billions of views.

Whether we want to face these facts or not, there is no denying the impact it has on society. YouTube’s mobile app alone reaches more 18-34 and 18-49 year-olds than any cable network in the U.S. Let’s think about that for a moment. A mobile app reaches more 18-49 year olds than any U.S. cable network in existence.

But it isn’t just the United States that YouTube has had this profound impact on. In fact, 80% of YouTube’s views come from outside of the United States, and the site has launched local versions in over 80 countries with the option to navigate in a total of 76 different languages.

That makes up approximately 95% of the internet population.
That’s mind blowing.
Online videos haven’t just changed how the consumer receives their information, either.

Just ask Felix Kjellberg, better known by his YouTube alias “Pewdiepie”, who is the single most subscribed to a person on YouTube with over 44 million unique subscribers. He has turned his entertainment/gaming play through videos into a multi-million dollar business venture, with an annual income of over $12 million.
I’m not saying that you should go out and start an entertainment YouTube channel right now, but I am saying that the impact that online videos have on the internet right now is unparalleled. If you want to connect with a larger audience, and in turn drive signups to your site and increase conversions, you just may want to look into creating videos.

The most important part, at least in my opinion, is to first learn how to use videos to effectively market your business.

That’s where we come in.

In this article, we’ll provide you with 5 insider secrets to use videos to drive signups and increase your website conversions with ease.

Insider Secret #1: Provide product walk throughs to increase new customer acquisition

To gain full respect and trust from potential clients, you must first put yourself in their shoes. Assuming that you were a person looking to buy a particular product, what would you want to know about it?
Well, for starters, chances are that you would want to become acquainted with the interface — how does it work? Is it easy? These are the questions that your walk through should answer. Start from the very beginning, watering the process down for even the least tech-savvy person in the room. You want your walk through to cover everything and leave no questions left unanswered.

That’s exactly what the makers of Honey Book did with their nearly 22-minute full product walk through YouTube video.
Making something like this is easy, too. If you’re a MAC user, you can easily do something like this with QuickTime. PC users can download something like ScreenRecorder for an easy, painless experience as well.

Insider Secret #2: Provide how-to videos to increase traffic

I know what you’re probably thinking: “How does this differ at all from the walk through video?” Well, I’ll explain.
In a walk through video, you are teaching the audience how to use your product. In a how-to video, you are teaching the audience how to do something that uses your product. Let’s take this video How To Properly Tag Your YouTube Videos  and use them as an example, shall we?

In this video its not just the presenter telling the tips and trick of properly optimizing your you tube account but he’s sharing the information in a way to increase his product which is his own profile to increase its visibility. You do not plug or sell your product in a how-to video.

You rely on your audience’s intelligence to know that, if they are interested, they will seek the drill out for themselves.

Pro Tip: Post your video on your site, and include the step-by-step instructions as a way to extend the reach of your content. You can document anything like these bloggers who create income reports that share their earnings.

Insider Secret #3: Provide product description videos to increase conversions

The most difficult task is to describe your product in a way that instantly attract the attention of the targeted audience and convince the potential buyers but Hey, don’t you have to worry as Explainer Videos are to the rescue, the whole purpose of explainer videos s to explain the most complex ideas in a fun and engaging way, the best part about these videos is due to flexibility you can use them for any industry. Explainer videos are the go to go option when you have to stand out in the crowd to make your product shine.

Not only this a single product explainer video can boost up your conversion rates up to 60% all you need to do is get your explainer video right.

Insider Secret #4: Provide product testimonials to promote proof of concept

At this point, I think everyone on the planet has seen at least one Proactiv commercial starring a beautiful celebrity with ‘hard to manage’ skin. What makes these commercials so successful is the conversational tone to them. Celebrities ranging from Jessica Simpson to Adam Levine to supermodel Lily Aldridge all sit down in front of a camera and talk their acne struggles.

You don’t need a handful of celebrities in your corner to promote your product, although I’m sure it would be nice.
Simply having a few happy customers who attest to the usefulness of your product is all you need. Reach out to a few people and ask them to describe their experiences, as well as what problem(s) your product managed to solve for them.

Insider Secret #5: Provide video ads to increase sales

If you ask some, the best part of the Super Bowl is the funny commercials that come between plays.
If you want to reach a wider audience, you should consider advertisement. Of course, YouTube and Facebook are great avenues to promote your product, but short ad videos on social media sites like Instagram and Vine are starting to pick up as well.

Just check out this Lowe’s Instagram ad, which generated nearly 49,000 likes for the home improvement chain.
The biggest piece of advice I can offer here is to remember that advertisements can be tricky. Be sure to target your audience as precisely as you possibly can, as ads are expensive and a bad targeting job can result in a dramatic loss.

4 Ways to Make Your Brand Shine with Product Explainer Video

Animated product explainer video has taken over the world of online business.

In this new era of online marketing, it is essential to have this product video to create that buzz which you need for your business to flourish.

Product explainer video is one of the most cost-effective tools which you can have for your business, at the same time these videos also save the endless man efforts.

This powerful quality of explainer video has convinced many business leaders to think about investing in them.
But the question that haunts many business minds is that what this product video can specifically do for the brand itself?

This one video can do a lot more for your business than just being budget friendly and time saving.

Product explainer video is an amazing marketing tool that can benefit your business in endless ways, let’s look at few of them.

1. Makes Your Brand Shine Among Others

In this day and age, nothing is secured whatever you are selling in the market is also being sold by many other businesses, there are probably a few hundred competing companies, at least, who are selling the same thing to the same possible consumers.

This is where your product explainer video can help set you apart from those other companies by highlighting your unique angle on the product. The catchier and more innovative the video, the more customers will remember your company rather than your competitors.

Product explainer video is a combination of audio and visual, with powerful content and compelling animation you can give your viewers a unique experience that they’ll remember for a long time.

2.Explains Your Business in Few Seconds

An animated product explainer video is the best tactic you can use to explain who you are, what you do and why you´re better than your competition, in just a matter of seconds. It´s the perfect pitch! It not only can help you attract new prospects to your site, but also make them stay on your site for a longer period of time: if you embed an animated marketing video above the fold in your home page, you can increase the average visit time by 2 minutes. If we consider that visitors usually don´t spend more than 8 seconds on a site…, this means that there could be an amazing 1500% in viewership increase!

Let’s take an example of Oasis HR video in which they have amazingly explained the services they are providing, animated character which is exactly according to their target market added up more spice to the video.

3.Quickly Engages the Audience

The most proficient quality of a product explainer video is that it has the ability to explain the complex ideas in the most simplified and engaging way, it quickly delivers your message which is easy for the audience to understand (plain text could never have such a power). Explainer videos have a great power of synthesis: when different graphic elements come alive, transform and move, you can generate high levels of engagement and attention in just a matter of seconds.

People are usually keener when it comes to video. The Wharton Research Center did a study that determined that people retain 10% of the information they hear compared to 50% of the information they see.

So rather than just use advertising through audio, the visuals of an explainer video help make the message and product stick in a person’s mind, making them more eager to share and reiterate the information an explainer video presents.

4.Builds Brand Visibility

By creating a product explainer video, you also build a strong bond and emotional connection from your audience towards your brand/product. You must be wondering how a video can do that. Well, the answer is very simple, by customizing your animated characters according to your target audience this the way of showing that your video is specifically for them and how much you care about their problems. Use your brand colors as much as possible. The whole idea of building brand visibility is to make people recognize and relate to your brand when it’s mentioned or when the brand logo appears anywhere on the web.

The most obvious example of building association through brand colors and strong slogans can be seen in the campaign of McDonalds, they have been using yellow and red since decades and now even a 5-year-old can recognize the brand.

Same is with Microsoft, there logo and colors are enough to trigger the mind of their audience. Here is a screen capture of their app video taken from their product explainer video.

Aside from high levels of engagement, brand awareness, visibility and identification are what you can get by leveraging the amazing power of animated videos. But there are many other benefits that this great tool can bring to your business from boosting your sales to increasing the number of conversions, the trick is to use them right and get the most of it.

I hope this little information will turn out to be useful for you. To learn more about this wonderful tool stay tuned for our next blog post.
